Welcome to the interactive mapping tool for the Woodland Heights- Chase Street Brownfield Assessment Grant Application. YOU WILL HAVE TO SIGN IN AS A GUEST TO UTILIZE THE TOOL- NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!!! Click the ORANGE VIEW YOUR MAP Icon above to get started. This tool allows you to create your map of brownfield issues in the Woodland Heights Neighborhood, highlighting the issues that you feel are affecting you and may have an impact on the neighborhoods health and future redevelopment of Chase Street. You also have the ability to VOTE up or down features that other users may place. This fun and interactive tool is easy to use. Give it a try and create your map. *From SGF YIELDS and TRAFFIC* We also have added some Traffic Calming Features to the MAP for assisting in identifying where excessive speeding is occurring, stop sign running occurs, and where problematic intersections are to assist with our Public Works team.* What is a brownfield?! A brownfield is defined as: real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. What Are Community-Wide Assessment Grants? Assessment Grants provide funding for a recipient to: ○Inventory Sites: Compile a listing ○Characterize Sites: Identity past uses ○Assess Sites: Determine existing contamination of hazardous substances and/or petroleum contamination ○Conduct Planning Around One or More Brownfield: Initiate site revitalization and prepare for site redevelopment ○Conduct Site-specific Cleanup and Redevelopment ○Planning: Scope and plan process ○Conduct Community Involvement: Inform and engage community What is the Role of the Neighborhood in this process & what comes next??? The City will be making the application for the Community Wide Assessment Grant in November of 2023. If selected for this grant, the City can then continue engaging with the community on site assessments and area-wide planning. The Neighborhoods vision for the area will be reflected in any future planning efforts of this target area.
