CBD Parking Allocation Plan

CBD Parking Allocation Survey

The City of New Orleans, Department of Public Works (DPW), in collaboration with the Downtown Development District (DDD) is evaluating existing curb uses and demands in the Central Business District (CBD). A preliminary survey of on-street parking use reveals that there is high demand for more parking on some blocks and that there are high numbers of violations, especially cars parked illegally in passenger and freight zones, on other blocks. Your input is needed to accurately determine where changes to the designated curb uses may be necessary based on current and future demands. This study will not be considering a change in the hours where parking fees are collected or the cost of on-street parking but we want to hear your specific suggestions regarding the following issues: - Stalls that should be allocated to a different use o Example – These metered stalls need to be changed to a freight loading zone. - Stalls that should remain the same o Example – These passenger loading stalls are critical to my business operations. - Other issues such as blocks where vehicles block travel lanes o Example – Delivery trucks double park in travel lane. To provide input, you will need to create an account. Once you create a login and password, you can “Create a Map” which allows you to identify specific issues with a description. There is also an option to upload a photo. You can also review feedback from other users. For more information on this study, please visit our website.
