Let's Map It!
Antelope Valley Community Standards Districts (AV CSDs) Update
Please join us! We are building a map to express rural life in unincorporated Antelope Valley and seek your participation. The Southeast Antelope Valley Rural Life map is being created in connection with the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning and the updates to the Antelope Valley Community Standards Districts (AV CSDs). We want to work with you to map the stories about your neighborhoods and towns that are important to you. The invitation is rooted in a deep respect for your perspective and a desire to facilitate your needs and hopes in Antelope Valley. The Southeast Antelope Valley Rural Life mapping activity can be fun and interactive. Designed for local residents, workers, council members, business owners and other neighbors, the map can receive your rural knowledge as a way for you to contribute to a broader understanding of the history, values, and visions of Antelope Valley. Through mapping you can connect with each other, as well as remember and take note of events, people, structures and other places of significance in rural Antelope Valley. The goal is to heighten awareness of the cultural richness of this valley in Los Angeles County, for neighbors as well as County regional planners, government officials and visitors. To start, once you're registered click on "Create New Map" and fill in a name. Click the "Bookmark" symbol on the right and select your community. Click on the map, choose a legend category, and enter a short description or upload a photo (2MB max). Enter as many as you'd like, and you can always go back and add more as you think of them... More detailed instructions will be available on the project website soon. Thanks for all your valuable feedback! For more project info and all the latest, please click the link below.
